Who it is for
Who needs a DOT physical?
Anyone who holds a CDL, or drives a commercial vehicle regulated by the FMCSA, needs a current DOT physical. The exam confirms that a driver is medically qualified to operate that vehicle.
It is a federal requirement, and it has to be performed by a certified medical examiner. Dr. Brock holds that certification, so your exam and your paperwork happen in the same room.
A DOT physical is not a drug test. Employer drug and alcohol testing is a separate requirement, and Brock OHW can coordinate it.

The FMCSA keeps a National Registry of certified medical examiners, and drivers can look up an examiner there before an appointment. Dr. Brock is listed there.

Come prepared
What to bring to your exam
Your medical history is part of the exam, so bring the documents that describe it. The list covers what to have on hand when you walk in.
Arriving prepared usually means one visit instead of two.
- Your driver's license. Bring the license you drive on.
- A complete list of your medications. Include the dose for each one.
- Glasses, contacts, or hearing aids. Bring them if you use them.
- Your CPAP compliance report. Bring it if you are treated for sleep apnea.
- Recent readings or specialist notes. Helpful for conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart conditions.

Check in and review
You check in at 600 S Tonopah Drive, Suite 220, and go through your medical history and current medications with Dr. Brock.

The exam itself
Vision, hearing, blood pressure and pulse, a urinalysis health screen, and a hands-on physical exam.

Certificate in hand
When you qualify, you typically walk out with your medical examiner's certificate the same visit. Your result is reported to the FMCSA National Registry.
